About
There is a beauty and power in the Hebrew language. The Hebrew alphabet represents the building blocks of life.
The Hebrew word for God’s Word is “dabar” which is also the Hebrew word for bees. Is it just coincidence or is there a deeper meaning? Bees are in a continual search for nectar and pollen, but it is the nectar that they take back to the nest. Once there, they do a dance that tells the other bees where to find the nectar. It is this nectar that gives them life and sustains them and without it, they would die. In the same way, God’s Word is our true source of eternal life and sustenance and without it, we would die. We are not to “live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Jesus is the Word made flesh who dwelt among us and He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). The Hebrew language is not abstract, but it is alive with movement. Consider a busy bee collecting nectar and showing other bees the way to this source of life and know that the “the word of God is living and powerful” (Hebrews 4:12) and contains “words of eternal life” (John 6:68).
Dvora uses both modern and paleo Hebrew (the Hebrew alphabet used before the Babylonian captivity, 597 BC) in the design. The designs combine the “Word of God” with symbols that represent the concept pictured.
